BogenDorpher writes: "A gamer by the name of David Stebbins filed a motion in federal court in an attempt to get Microsoft to pay him $500 billion dollars after he tried to amend his Xbox Live contact with Microsoft and was ignored when he asked for legal arbitration.

According to Stebbins, the Xbox Live TOS is a standard contract that binds both the subscriber and the company equally. Therefore, Stebbin believes that he was technically equally capable to change the terms of service as Microsoft. So that's exact what he did. He made some changes and sent the amendments with a notice to Microsoft saying "if Microsoft did not terminate his Xbox Live membership, such changes would take effect in 10 days.""

BogenDorpher writes: Apple is apparently in trial production phase for its next generation iPad tablet device and is looking for an early 2012 launch. Apple has already ordered chips, display panels, and other components for the iPad 3 in order to develop 1.5 million iPad 3's in the fourth quarter of this year in preparation for the launch in 2012.

BogenDorpher writes: Microsoft announced today that it has disabled a tracking code used on its websites that apparently could track users as part of a "supercookie" tracking scheme. Supercookies are present even after the user deletes the cookies from their browser.

BogenDorpher writes: "We've all done it. Dropped our expensive phone only to have it either damaged or destroyed because of the fall. Well, have no fear. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has invented the mobile phone airbag system.

The patent is for an airbag system for mobile phones and portable devices. The airbag system detects when it is being dropped and would deploy some sort of damage protection system, like an airbag."

This is aimed at correcting the problem where browser extensions are automatically installed or installed on accident. This is to "return control back to the user.""

BogenDorpher writes: "A lawsuit has apparently been filed against Google by a Massachusetts woman for information gathered by emails sent by those with and without gmail accounts for the purposes of targeted advertising.

Marquis, who apparently uses AOL, wants punitive and monetary damages of $100 per day for each violation Google makes, or just $1,000, whatever comes out to be greater. Marquis also wants an injunction to stop Google from targeted advertising due to the violation of Massachusett's wiretapping law."

BogenDorpher writes: "Hackers are claiming that the popular social networking site Facebook is responsible for large-scale security violations and will be taken down November 5th. These hackers are now looking at Facebook as a target after a large scale underground attack against government agencies."
