Absolutely. However, this could provide decent content for my projector. (Once you've experienced a properly set-up system with a 240" screen, you will never want to look at a TV.)

Given the benefits of Plex - automatic download of info, sorting, presentation, etc, etc - and the fact that it runs beautifully on a power sipping pogoplug - running Debian, or Archlinux - there is no reason not to run Plex. There are many other benefits in having a very low power box running Linux.

Some third party apps still work. Most will no longer do so after the middle of May.

My OBi202 is one, and so is GroovIP, and so on and so on. Bummer, for sure, but other free, or nearly so, alternatives do exist. So, in the end ... shrug.

 

I use Win8. All my stuff is on my HDDs. There is no reason you HAVE to use the cloud.

Yes, you have to actually open BOTH eyes and even get more than two neurons firing at the same time when setting things up, but it's not at all mandatory to use the cloud.

Seems a lot of people are critical of Calibre. OK, it's not perfect. However, I also can't help but notice that no one is saying something like "It sucks because of "X" and "Y" and "insert application name here" is a much better choice.
