Just leave the rest of the Executive Branch running on autopilot, and I doubt anybody would notice.

The far right would notice. What you just described was the Deep State. Employees loyal to their position, and do not change behavior based off of politics. They just follow the rules they are given. The far right hates those people; they are difficult to corrupt.

Normally when we hear about these tax dodging schemes it involves a shell company. A legal entity that does nothing. At least with Microsoft and Puerto Rico it does something. All/Most of Microsoft software goes through Puerto Rico as it's last step before being released. Puerto Rico digitally signs the final product.

What is "too large" ? How do you define that without being completely arbitrary?

I know, I haven't answered that myself. It's just something that I've pondered over. It doesn't mean that should such a law make it on the books, that the law wouldn't contain guidelines as to what counts for too large. I have been thinking a bit about this the last few months and have some ideas as to what counts as too large. But that's still a minor detail as to the sentiment of the proposal.

What constitutional foundation do you have for restricting someone's purchase rights?

The same foundation as anti trust laws.

Why do we need new laws when we could just enforce the ones we already have?

A lot of the cases aren't creating a monopoly (a big fish buying up a little fish), but they do end up harming consumers in the long run by concentrating too much power. This is different from anti trust because a large company buying up a small company in a different industry doesn't create a monopoly in that other industry. but I feel that it still has negative effects to the general welfare of the citizens of the United States.

Do you know what you get when someone doesn't have accountability online? HONESTY

I don't see why that's true. I've even seen people saying the opposite. People on Slashdot reminiscing about the good old days of the internet, and how they'd sign onto chat boards (or whatever) and lie, lie, lie. And why wouldn't they? It's anonymous. All of this lying they had pent up that they couldn't use in real life now had an outlet. And since all they did was lie, fantasize and troll, they'd assume that everyone else on the internet was doing the same. So for them, the lack of accountability was the place for dishonesty, not honesty.
