Comment Re: So, let me guess.... (Score 1) 136

One world government and a global society that looks after the âoewelfareâ of all people, not just the wealthy is exactly the sort of hell on earth Satan and his evil Cabal of liberal baby eaters want to trick us into!

The only good thing about this is that hundreds of millions if not a billion or two people will die and in the carnage and chaos, the wealthy elite who inflicted this end upon our society will be raped, murdered and fed to animals⦠and after all that is left is a smoldering ruin, we will rebuild and fuck our selves in the ass for the benefit of the few all over again

At this point I think humanity needs to accept that we are a shit species. The worst. Nothing but insane murder monkeys, who only rape and destroy all they come in contact with. The best thing we could do would be to wipe out our specie from the planet all together. The fossil record shows that mass extinction leads to better, more capable species to replace the previous dominant species, letâ(TM)s be good stewards for once and eradicate ourselves so nature can replace us with something better that isnâ(TM)t some mentally unstable pack of murderous fuckwads

YouTube was bought by Google and for practical purposes is Google at this point. And Google is allergic to the entire idea of human review. Their entire existence is owed to an algorithm for automatically ranking search results. They will only ever use human review in a reactive way, and then only when they're forced by some external pressure.

Comment Regarding CS, a degree is worse than helpful (Score 1) 222

I have been building practical industrial control systems for nearly 40 years. Since 1990 or so much of what CS students have been taught is either useless or objectively wrong for practical work. I know several manufacturers with engineering staffs who have gotten into serious trouble because they believed "never optimize your code," which was actually taught in the1990's, or because they weren't taught finite math which hasn't been part of the standard CS curriculum for at least 30 years but is actually kind of important when you are telling a computer to do math for you. I have advised my employers that if they ever want to get me an apprentice or assistant, not to look for a CS grad but rather a HS grad who has a hobby like robotics and maybe doesn't want to go deep into debt to get into a field where they can do a lot of interesting projects.

Comment HP are grifters now (Score 1) 199

I recently had to install a new printer for a customer who has had a computer system I built at the front of their plant for over a decade. Their old printer died and they couldn't get the new one to work. Both HP. I found out that all new HP printers required a constant internet connection, which is crazy. One of the requirements of this secure system is that it NOT be connected to the internet. So they ended up with a Brother printer. And they're very happy with it. And I've alerted the rest of my own company that as far as I am concerned, HP has grifted themselves entirely out of the printer business. We will not do business with them any more. And if any of our lower level munchkins do anyway, I will not support those devices.

There's no way to stop the recyclers from selling the parts off.
