...

the cobalt has to be arranged in a hexagonal close packing structure to ensure the stability of its magnetic field. Otherwise the field can spontaneously reverse and the data is lost.

So one day the atoms might just realize that they've been tricked and you'll end up with your computer on fire because your benzene chains have all broken and you end up with 2-methyl-1,3,5-trinitrobenzene

Submission + - Employee Rights

KingPin27 writes: A "friend of mine" recently had some issues at work. Before I relate the story please know that this is in Canada so particular labor laws may be different compared to the united states.
The issues involve a contract term of employment — His employer approached him one day about a week ago and said congratulations your contract has been extended for another X number of months; not even a week later his employer pulls him aside and states that this is no longer the case and that he could take the conversation as being basically the 2 weeks notice.
My question to the /. community is — Have any of you faced similar experiences? With this type of situation is there any recourse or is it a case of BOHICA?

6. Your passwords and account security 6.1 You agree and understand that you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of passwords associated with any account you use to access the Services. 6.2 Accordingly, you agree that you will be solely responsible to Google for all activities that occur under your account.

5.6 You agree that you are solely responsible for (and that Google has no responsibility to you or to any third party for) any breach of your obligations under the Terms and for the consequences (including any loss or damage which Google may suffer) of any such breach.

Facebook's terms of service are just as strict.

4.6 You will not share your password, let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.

I for one would not give that information and would suspect that the City is in violation of some law or other and that my providing usernames and passwords to these accounts would constitute my violation of terms of service and would get me in lots more trouble.

In my organization, the number of priority 1 incidences have dropped by 95% since implementing ITIL. That is mostly because there is so much paperwork and hassle involved in opening a priority 1 incident that nobody opens them anymore. ITIL works.

This would not be ITIL then -- All incidents should be handled and categorized accordingly. If there is a priority 1 incident it should be a priority 1 incident not a lower priority incident with a call to your buddy in the server room to fix a glitch. You shouldn't have to be scared of making a priority incident just because the paperwork is overwhelming --

Alot of the limitations I've had with loading times and playability have been overcome with a softmod -- easily acheived through various means. I've added a 640Gig USB2.0 HDD to my WII which allows me to keep a backup of my regular stock of games - since doing this my loading times have decreased significantly. So wouldn't the WII benefit greatly from supporting additional hardware or upgrading the ability of their current stock?
