I been a Java developer for 8 years, worked at several different consulting companies and large in-house corporate environments. I've never seen Windows+Tomcat being used in an actual production setup. For development, yes, almost always. But Linux+Tomcat is much more common for live servers in my experience. At least it is in today's business world.

The new Samsung Chromebook has that quad core ARM SoC for $250. That seems like a fairly decent price/performance ratio to me.

As a senior Java developer, I must be in one of those skill sets. I took a job two years ago with what I thought was a decent wage. And it was in the company's range. And now the similar jobs I see posted are making 10-15k more than me.

Seconded. I am a very occasional/casual game player myself, and I've never really been a huge fan of the FPS genre. When I was a kid growing up, I always loved mario and zelda. If I wanted to play games with better graphics, I would buy myself a better video card and use my PC. Now that I'm 35 and can afford it, I mosty just don't bother.

So why not just log in under a new tab? Your browser session will then transfer over to the other tab. Or am I missing something?

I'm pretty intrigued by these new chromebooks, and I am seriously considering getting one for my wife. She mostly just does web surfing, facebooking, and email checking, so I think it would be fine for her needs.

I think Alabama has an absurdly low abv limit for beer, if I remember correctly. something like 5 or 6 %.

I am from Ohio and I visit friends in PA ocasionally. I used to buy a case of Yuengling and bring it back with me. Although we have our own dumb alcohol laws here, I think PA really does take the cake as far as ridiculous regulation goes.

I used to not drink coffee that much in the morning. Now I have two young kids who are constantly up at at all hours of the night. Since then I have been about three cups after getting to work. Can't get enough of it.

It looks like a really nice phone. I might be tempted to pick up a used one next year when prices start coming down. Unless they release an LTE version of the new Nexus phone. For now I am happy with my Verizon galaxy nexus and probably will keep that for a while.

I don't know about you, but I wear regular size 32" pants and it fits in my pocket just fine.

I really hope this is true. I have the keyboard dock right now, and it works just fine with my iPad. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to run xCode on it with an external monitor. Why should I have to buy a mac to develop iOS apps?

I am from Cleveland, and let me tell you I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THESE DAMN COMMERCIALS ARE OVER. It really is like being slapped in the face everywhere you go. I thought we might have a break after the 2010 mid terms, but I was wrong. The next round for primaries started almost immediately. I'm hoping it won't be as intense, at least for a while. BTW - I am not voting. I think it is a waste of time.
