I only recently updated to iOS 6 with the Apple maps. It certainly seems fine to me; faster than Google maps was. I was unaware that the Apple maps simply did not work at all when it first came out. Or perhaps you're just exaggerating.
Yes, the initial Apple maps was a bit of a black eye. But the response to it was amazing. From the headlines I was sure that the civilized world was coming to an end. Cats and dogs sleeping together, etc.

Not likely to happen until the company is forced to upgrade because they're losing customers. In the meantime the extra money will go for CEO and managerial bonuses.
Not so different from corporations in the end. No matter what it's all about power.
Not only that, but saying that the world isn't perfect is not a justification for not trying to make it better. It's also in human nature to try to improve things.

Mainly that when you've poisoned yourself enough you no longer function correctly.
I will second that and add http://www.markfiore.com/ if we're allowing animated content. Fiore is hilarious political commentary. For some people.
If by "gets distracted" you mean "is an entitled narcissist" then I agree. Robots will take the deadliest thing out of the driving equation, ego.
And yet he did more than you.
OK, I'm interested in one of those cheaper machines you mentioned but ten minutes of searching doesn't produce anything. Can you post a link or two?
To do the kinds of things a 3D printer can do you'd likely want a CNC mill and those things are way pricier than a 3D printer. Even a mini mill with the necessary accessories is more expensive than a printer.
Milling is not like printing in that it is subtractive, not additive, and thereby more wasteful. Don't get me wrong. I love milling stuff, but there is clearly a place for both tools in the shop. Figuratively speaking of course. I'm trying to figure out where to put a 3D printer.
I'm an atheist and I still enjoy the Christmas season. Time off, lighter traffic, fewer people at work....

It's amazing we were able to find out about rot-13.
That's pretty much true. You should only get a Mac if you're trying to do real work. For web surfing and email a Chromebook would be better for most non-savvy users.
