Comment Re:Just ask nurses in Gaza how AI treated them (Score 3, Insightful) 93

You are confused. In order to do war crimes, you must be a group of legitimate combattants. Hence the Israeli side can commit war crimes, but Hamas cannot as they are not an army created by a legitimate government. For irregular combattants, this is called "terrorism" or just "crime". As a result, the nurses do not lose any Geneva Convention protections at all. And as a second result, all your allegations need to be individually proven in a court of law. Oh, and you just advocated for committing war crimes. Nice.

Incidentally, that is one main reason why the military is useless in fighting terrorism. It always results in an asymmetric conflict where the military is either ineffective or will be committing war crimes and thus making the situation worse by losing legitimacy. As can currently be observed nicely.

Don't get me wrong. I do not support either side here. It is religious fundamentalist murderous assholes on both sides that do not mind one bit killing tons of civilians. You know, the worst the human race has to offer.

Conspiracy or not I really get the feeling that even more horror stories about the state Boeing is in are going to come to light over the next 2-3 months. I think even the bad things we have heard so far while already more than enough to take action, are really just breaking the surface.

Same here. They are obviously unable to fix their problems in any reasonable time-frame. For things to go this badly wrong as with the door, a lot of things need to be screwed up. For the door it was one incompetent installation and two missing checks. (I assume that when you check for correct bolt installation, you cannot be incompetent enough to mistake a missing bolt for an installed one...) That is three different people or teams screwing up really badly. It is quite likely that there is a lot more being done wrong there, because this screams "broken engineering culture".

In this case, "correlation is not causation" is pure stupidity (of which lots of people have tons). Obviously, cardiovascular diseases do not cause more PFAS. That leaves one option for non-causation: a common thing that causes more cardiovascular diseases _and_ more PFAS. That thing would have found by now if it existed. Hence yes, this is causation.

Indeed. Or man does the same crap. Too many "modern" human beings look for somebody else to blame when they screwed up.

For the case of "baby dies", there are basically two options 1) Misadventure. It happens. Sometimes things get overlooked even when careful. No punishment, the parent(s) are going to blame themselves enough. 2) Criminally negligent homicide. Make it clear to people that having a baby comes with responsibilities to be taken seriously.

In all cases: Give people real sex education and give people real education what it means to raise a child.
