Journal Journal: Story submission 1

The BBC has a short article about Sealand and Havenco. Probably the only thing that majority of slashdotters didn't already know is that HavenCo is running at a profit. Good to see a mainstream article on the subject, though.

Journal Journal: Another new sig

I had a hard time deciding between these two:

Yoda the Builder: Fix it, can we?

or:

Shaft the Builder: Can we dig it? Yes we can!

There were numerous variations on these. Yes, the US-dubbed version of Bob the Builder is back in our house, along with a BtB colouring book that came in Parents magazine.

Old sig was
--
fortune(6) favours the brave

Journal Journal: New sig 2

Not the previous one, as promised, but one that is relevant to T(H)GSB of 4/21 - 4/27
--
Best of #28001: I'll be reposting all my +5 comments to random articles during the blackout.

Strictly speaking this isn't true. I'll be doing my best to observe the blackout.

Spoof Google site lets you "search" AIM logs

This site claims to have a searchable index of 5 years of AIM logs. Enter any two strings to enter the search. According to The Register's story on this, Google has already complained about the original version of the site infringing on their trademarks. The spoof site now calls itself Googol.

The CNN headline "New Mexico church burns Harry Potter books" may seem bad enough, but worse is that only in the caption of the accompanying picture do they mention that the works of Shakespeare were also being burned.

Now, I'm as much of a Harry Potter fan as anyone of my advanced age, but this is like having a headline "Man arrested for speeding" and mentioning in a footnote that he killed three pedestrians.

Journal Journal: Hilary Rosen is my friend

Actually, Hilary Rosen is me. So is Anoriymous Coward. As someone who keeps acquiring karma, it's galling to keep hitting the ceiling at 50. So I have to keep creating new accounts to store it all in.
