Weakening Germany for an invasion by cutting a single pipeline? The usual way is heavy artillery fire for a couple of days and unlike the last time the Russians invaded, Berlin seems very much intact. I'd rather assume a somewfat aggressive marketing campaign by someone trying to sell their highly unpopular NLG.

that "traditional US approach to freedom of speech, especially in universities" (also known as the principle of liberty of science and research) is the actual concept of the university as an institution. At least that's what Charlemagne said when he founded the university of Bologna. Which was indeed the first one of it's kind. Fair to say that this concept already had a bit of a tradition before some Spanish sailors reached the "new world" instead off falling off the world's edge.

I "antivirus" software had stuck to detecting malware that problem would not occur. But they had to nag about "potentionally unwanted" and what not else. Synthetic fertilzer and all the insecticides that are not killing any bees at all have been targeting world hunger and it still is there. Not a technical problem but we could either feed the world or maximize our profits but not have the cake and eat it. Well, we could but the third world can't. Have the cake we have or eat the cake we ate, that is. Now Gates has the bestest idea ever - let's tell the unwashed masses they can eat AI. So he can sell it to them.
