Comment Re:Sure. Not Iran, who calls for Israel's destruct (Score 1) 117

Can you show me where "rape" is thoroughly documented? I'm focusing on that because, while I do believe the rest are false, this is one I have not heard before.

Also, it might serve you to make the distinction between you basing your opinions on sources, and those sources being indisputable. It is a perfectly legitimate form of debate for you to make claims, and for me to disagree with said claims. Sources can then be examined, burden of proof agreed upon, and some mutally agreed upon conclusion hopefully reached. It's called "discussion". I recommend trying it out every so often, just to keep yourself in shape.

Or, you can equate me disproving the AC poster to making all criticism of Israel illegal, something which I've neither said nor meant. Then pile on more accusations, taking it for granted that they are: A. relevant to the discussion (Israel's supposed attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. No relation to the Palestinians) and B. So self evident that even calling them wrong is absurd.

So my conclusion from this exchange is that you, JabrTheHut (not confusing you with either cowards) are not interested in a facts based discussion. You just got angry because someone said something you've always taken to be true (irrelevant to the topic on hand though it may be), and yet I've shown it to be false.

I do think almost all of the accusations you raised against Israel have no hold in reality. You could, unfortunately, make a case for the torture claim. I'm not sure it'd do you much good if your aim is to show Israel as the horrendous abomination you seem to think it is. Many western countries are guilty of much much worse.

So, to recap: Do provide some support to your rape claims. Those are new ones.

I understand your wish to not have to confront people showing you that you are wrong. It's always easier to just use strawmen arguments such as

I know, how dare anyone criticise Israel! There should be a law against that.

The best strategy is to counter a rebuttal of a false accusation by piling on more false accusations. It's clear that it's not so much that you think Israel did all of those things, so much as you not caring whether it did so or not, so long as you can safely accuse it.

I can't believe it's 2021 and comments accusing Israel of genocide still get modded up.

Of all the bullshit accusations against Israel, this one is the easiest to disprove. Just look at the Palestinian demographics. They have, consistently, year after year, more births than deaths. If Israel is attempting genocide, it is horribly inefficient at it.

plus the US guarantees most of its loans even though they've defaulted in the past,

Care to cite your sources. As far as I know, Israel has never defaulted on any loan it took. Credit ranking firms tend to think the same. I'm sure Moody's would want to hear that new information you have.

For a history geek, you seem to be saying a lot of stuff that is plain wrong. Does seem to be in line with that other adjective we've been considering for you.

If you've done your research, then you must know that Israel has to spend the aid it gets buying from the USA. You also know that the US aid to Israel is not that big compared to Israel's overall budget.

And yet, you look at a random project, and without knowing anything about it declare that it's financed by the US.

You sure sound like a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices.

Comment Re:*WHAT* internet congestion !? (Score 1) 41

I don't think there is any congestion involved. The Akamai server you are downloading from is, almost always, local to your ISP, and often even the specific data center you are connected to the internet through.

This sounds to me like a deliberate slowdown due to someone (probably the video game company) requesting it.
