Comment silly statement (Score 1) 57

while it would not Suprise me that it is a motherboard fault. Saying that the majority of reports are from enthusiast motherboard makers seems silly. Of course they are the majority, those buying i9 and even most of the i7 will likely be in that category and they are the ones that will be pushing their machines to the limits and beyond.

EV proponents keep saying things like '80% of all trips are within range' but they forget that it doesn't mean the same thing as 'EVs will work for 80% of people'.

^this, One of my friends bought a Model 3 as he mostly commutes around town, after 2 years he is going back to ICE. He loves the EV but that small percentage of time he travels for family or a holiday is hugely inconvenient, requires planning or a rental vehicle. Easter this year was the final straw for him as he was stuck in an hour queue just to get to a charger. So probably 95% of the time EV's work for him, but he can't put up with that 5% of the time anymore.

damn posted reply to wrong person initially. The only difference is China uses the government to screw people over whereas elsewhere we use corporate lawyers and bank balance plus the courts to steal secrets. ethically and morally they are the same.

No, they usually negotiate with the company pretending a partnership deal is on the table, once they have all the technical details they decide not to go ahead with the deal and create their own version of it (sometimes even by poaching staff of the potential partner). Why pay for the company when you can steal the assets.

sounds like she is less than open and honest herself. She took a new role prior to telling her new boss she would be taking maternity leave, while that may be legal it is ethically wrong as she just fucked over her new boss and then is shocked he isn't happy about it.

Comment charge for the connection., (Score 1) 338

Just do like they do in Australia. The solution isn't hard, if they are grid connected then you charge them a daily rate for the connection/infrastructure, they have been doing that here in Australia for as long as I can remember and you pay it regardless of whether you are a net importer or exporter of power.
