There is no evidence to support your belief. There have been many instances where the availability of pornography in a society changed, either by legal changes or technology (such as the spread of Internet porn). These changes are correlated with a decline in sexual violence. Here is an overview of the evidence.

I have known several guys that watched porn compulsively. They all had no relationships with women. The porn was a replacement for actual sex. I don't know if the same is true for pedophiles, but it seems to me that child porn is as likely to reduce molestation as it is to cause it. It seems reasonable to me to ban any porn depicting an actual child, but banning porn using adults posing as children, or animation, should not be done without clear evidence that it is harmful.

Learn who on your city council supports more police, higher police budgets, and uses scare tactics about "rising crime" in their campaigns. Vote against them. A quick rule of thumb is to vote against anyone endorsed by the police union. Instead you should vote for candidates that support community policing and drug legalization.

But Mars probably started with less radioactive material. The density of Earth is 5.5 kg/l. The density of Mars is 3.9 kg/l. So something in the early solar system caused more dense elements to end up on Earth rather than Mars. Most geothermal heat is caused by the decay of Thorium. Thorium is very dense, and is probably present in significantly higher concentrations on Earth, compared to Mars.

One doesn't need to be Christian to question the wisdom of allowing the Government and for-profit corporations to profit from gambling, which is essentially nothing more than a tax on people who are bad at math.

There is a social cost to gambling. Areas with legal gambling tend to have higher crime rates, more substance abuse, prostitution, and families in poverty (many gamblers are those that can least afford it). It is reasonable to tax gambling to recoup these costs. It certainly makes more sense than taxing, say, income and payrolls.

Nor do Christians generally oppose gambling.

Does the bible prohibit or condemn gambling? I don't think so, although many people may believe that it does. This reminds me of the poll of born-again Christians that were asked to pick their favorite bible verse, and 40% (or something like that) picked "God helps those that help themselves." Of course, that "verse" is not from the bible ... and expresses pretty much the exact opposite of the central tenets of Christianity.

In the USA, most fires are started by human activity. But most BIG fires are started by lightning in remote areas. Fires started by humans are usually quickly reported and extinguished. Fires started by lightning can get too big to control before they are even detected. This satellite system would mostly help with the remote fires started by lightning.

Yes. It costs money to make the calls, and it is especially expensive to deal with jerks like me that always press one to get a live operator, pretend to be very interested in the product, agree to place an order, and then give them a sequence of made up credit card numbers until they finally hang up. I make a game out of keeping them on the line as long as possible. My record is 43 minutes. If they filtered out my number it would save them a lot of money.

Yes, I am already on the national-do-not-call-list, but I still get a few auto-calls almost everyday.

Or are the algae too hard to crush to get them to release the oils?

Yes. The algae are small, individual cells, with tough, flexible membranes. You start with 99% water, then you separate the algae with filters or centrifuges. Then you need to thoroughly dry the algae to weaken the cell membranes. Then you need to use enzymes or heat to break them down further. Then you need to press or chemically extract the lipids. This can be done. But it is an expensive, energy intensive process. It isn't even close to being cost competitive with petroleum derived diesel, or even soybean oil. There is no "vast conspiracy" keeping algae oil off the market. The real reason is far simpler than that.

If domestic electricity costs dropped dramatically, it would be a huge boost to electric cars and trucks in the US.

1. Feed in tariffs for solar power don't reduce the cost of electricity. They increase it.
2. The cost of power for an electric car is already far smaller than the cost of gasoline. Even if it was reduced to zero, it would not change the economics much. It would still not make sense for most people because of the higher initial cost. If low cost of inputs was the only consideration, everyone would use solar powered cars, since sunshine is free.

Ethanol requirements are corporate welfare for Big Corn.

The corn lobby is a big part of it. There is no algae lobby. But there is much more to it. I remember reading about "fuel from algae" back in the 1970s. There were some major hurdles back then. Four decades hence, we have the exact same hurdles. There are huge problems with "fuel from algae", and these problems are not being solved. It is easy to make ethanol from starch, and much harder to make it from cellulose. Algae contains no starch. Most "algae fuel" schemes focus instead on making bio-diesel from lipids, which some algae do contain in significant amounts. The problem is that when algae is bred to produce more lipids, it is out produced by invasive species, and feasted on by predators such as paramecium and rotifers. This problem can be solved by growing algae in enclosed containers rather than open ponds, but that vastly increases the cost. Even if you manage to grow algae with enough lipids, you still have to separate them from that water, break up the cell walls, and separate the fuel from the other cellular debris. We are not even close to doing this cost effectively.
