Can't it just be a piece of ferromagnetic metal in the phone with the actual magnets on the charger? That's how I stick my pixel 2 XL to a magnetic mount in my car, just have to use a case and put the piece of metal in it since the phone is not made of enough ferromagnetic materials. Would be nice to avoid the case but, after experiencing the pain of no headphone jack, i will not be buying any phone without one so, Pixel 4a it is for me. Though I'll be losing screen resolution, the screen is also smaller so I likely won't notice (but the ability to take high resolution screenshots was nice regardless) and the 2 XL was always just slightly too big anyway. It's a steal at $350

Water unless it's freshly distilled is usually a little bit acidic anyway because it absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere and forms carbonic acid so that would offset the carbonate some..

That said lithium carbonate is a base and you would not want to drink anything with a pH over about 9 so, unsure off the top of my head if you'd need to neutralize your reconstituted 7-UP as well...

I think they use lithium carbonate for theraputic dosages because they are quite high in the hundreds of milligrams and, you can overdose on an excess of chloride just as well as anything else and the kidneys can only remove so much of it.. or you might get excessively dehydrated..

Oh dang off course i meant lithium-7 atomic no. 3; I think lithium CARBONATE is what they use technically, though chloride might work just as well just be sure to convert the molarity for the proper dosage..

That's why 7-UP is called 7-UP because they used to add a little bit of lithium chloride (atomic no. 7) to give you a little UP. Of course you can still buy it in bulk on eBay and add it yourself if you want but, think it became too much of a legal liability for the company, though I never heard of anyone actually ODing on it or having a drug interaction, it's not unheard of..

I think what needs to change is the one thing that Sun keyboards had right: there should be a meta/control key where caps lock is now, because caps lock is by virtually any definition an utterly useless key except in the rarest of circumstances, so why is it even there? Sure you can remap it but that is a maintenance nightmare across multiple OS/terminal emulators/machines/whatever that may or may not know the difference. So there it is just wasting valuable space within easy reach of normal typing position where a useful meta/control key could be. On a normal QWERTY keyboard I got enough RSI just reaching for the control key while using vim I shudder to think what would happen if i added emacs to the mix, more pain, physically or I'd be remapping keys constantly between laptops clouds androids raspberry pis etc that I'm all using as dev machines and periodically wiping out and doing it all over again, it would be madness.. already is..
