I can provide you with a long list of creators complaining about piracy, if you would like.

A list that includes *all creators* and authorizes you to speak for us? When you say:

Those of us who are creators are very alarmed by statements like this.

you're claiming to speak for a large group that holds a diverse range of opinions. Inflating your personal opinions by pretending you represent a huge group is just goofy.

Are you really claiming maturity in this or any other slashdot situations? I happen to agree with you on the use of the word "censorship", but your post (and most of your other posts on contentious points) is hardly stated maturely (let alone more maturely stated than JimmySlimmy's post). Be as childish as you want with your stereotypes, ad hominems and superiority dogmatism, but don't try to pass it off as grown-up.

While I appreciate your Tenth Amendment concerns, and am personally torn on the whole states vs. federal vs. local governance thing, you're operating from a very cynical viewpoint now. If the broadcast is, in your opinion, propaganda, you will have your vindication. But if it's not that, then you'll "be even more suspicious"?!

Sitting presidents have always gotten a great deal of media exposure. This is nothing new.

Also, I think you should research propaganda before you use that word in reference to this situation. To be perfectly frank, you don't even know if this coverage will be biased towards the president's viewpoint, let alone getting to the level of propaganda.

And it's not a campaign. Plainly, the sitting president should not have to pull funding from a particular party to talk to the people who elected him. He's the president, and if the news wants to cover his events, they should be free to do so. No need for "balance" in the form of "opposition* party viewpoint". If the Republicans want to get their ideas out there, they will have to find an outlet that will promote them. The RNC seems to have missed the fact that the election happened and is now over.

Your signature is the height of irony at this point. There are a myriad of ways that jawstheshark's post could be interpreted, and you've chosen a handful of possibilities that put your "informational" post in a "good light", but what's this? Your post only said that stoolpidgeon was talking about a specific app and not the OS, which I think anyone who has had *any* technical conversation with jawstheshark would know that he knows. Sorry, you may be nerdier than jawstheshark (doubtful but possible), but you're not going to win a nerd-off over what he understood here.
