eldavojohn writes: "Announced at E3, Mr. Groening will be the final boss in the Simpsons game. Mr. Groening commented on the game: "They did a send-up of videogames. It's a videogame about videogames; and I'm in the videogame. I'm a boss that you have to fight at the end of the game. It was really fun recording a million ways of dying, going 'UGGH, ARGGH, EUURGH!'""

Submission + - Wi-Fi Hack Aids Boarding Parties

Kage-Yojimbo writes: The U.S. Navy has adapted civilian wi-fi (wireless networks) for use at sea during boarding operations. By modifying off-the-shelf wi-fi gear, the navy increased the range to over 700 meters. The main reason for all this was to speed up the transmission of passport photos and other personal data back to the ship, so that it could be run through databases to check for terrorists or criminals. This wi-fi hack cut several hours off the time required to check documents. The Expanded Maritime Interception Operations (EIMO) wireless system was developed last year, to provide several kilometers of range to the original wi-fi gear (which has been in use for over three years). Each pair of wi-fi units costs about $1400 to construct, using common parts to add more powerful antennae to standard 802.11g wi-fi equipment.

Submission + - Blizard sues SPAM heavy gold sellar.

DaphneDiane writes: "Blizzard announced that they are suing one of the annoying heavily spaming gold sellar peon4hire. Peon4hire had recently been blanket spamming players in World of Warcraft with multi-line messages advertising their power leveling and gold selling business. With the advent of the recently released 2.1.0 patch Blizzard made it easier to report and block these spammers. I've noticed a large decrease in spam while playing since the patch. It used to be that I would get nearly a dozen spams a night but I barely have seen any since."

How would if affect you to one day to find out the instant messenger ID you used for years is suddenly gone?

Submission + - The Most Annoying Adsense Questions Ever

crazy4bass writes: "This list is in no particular order and shouldn't downplay the numerous good questions that are asked about this program. The short of it is, these questions are usually asked by people looking to make a quick buck and wondering just how far into a perceived gray area they can go or they have the delusion that someone's going to just give them the keys that will magically make their sites perform. Newsflash, it's not going to happen and if you have to ask most of these questions, you probably shouldn't be trying to use Adsense or any other revenue source in the first place. http://www.realitywired.com/2007/04/09/the-most-an noying-adsense-questions-ever/"
