Exactly. So call it was it is instead of a generic term that already had a fairly fixed definition in most people's mind and it's not five rounds of conversation before it goes completely off the rails.
For Hobbes, the civil state (i.e. Leviathan) is the construct; whereas, the state of nature is real, and in it, there is one fundamental right that everybody has: "[the right] to use his own power, as he will himself, for the preservation of his own Nature; that is to say, of his own Life."
That sounds more like something Calvin would say to get out of trouble.
