Many things much much closer to the line have existed ever since Pokemon came out. Monster Rancher is a straight up clone that's been around since the 90s. The look and feel is identical. I mistook it for Pokemon. Even the outfits are the same. If that hasn't been litigated out of existence I don't see why Palworld would be. This seems to be either shitting on the fad or the violence inherent in the genre being too close to the surface for people to be comfortable. Pokemon is basically the Michael Vick simulator. You're breeding animals to fight.

We're back to the mainframe model of computing. A laptop is just a terminal to the real compute. Most PCs are simply 2D rendering engines these days. Other than a few specialized use cases you don't need capabilities in your laptop. Schiller doesn't seem to understand the basic usage patterns in the industry.

Latency has nothing to do with it. People have been gaming online for decades. Bandwidth is the real issue. Assuming I'm doing my math right one second of 1080p 32 bit color video at 24 frames a second is just under 190 megabytes of data to move every second. 4K video is 759 megabytes of data to move every second. 24 frames is generally considered a shit frame frame for PC gaming. Games are routinely called out on consoles when they are locked to 30 frames. Granted that assumes zero compression which is a no magic bullet since lack of buffer means compression directly translates to latency or reduced frame rate.

Short answer: pay cash, use public transit/ a car without gps, don't bring a laptop. Honest answer: If someone who can pull your credit card history and data from your vehicle is targeting you there's nothing that can be done to stop it except to walk out on literally everything and start a new life with a new identity.

None of the alternatives to cable carry my local stations. A digital antenna, a TiVo, and Playstation VUE is less per month than cable and we get everything we watched on cable except for Comedy Central. $15 a month is well worth me not having to get a list of everything everyone wants to watch and then downloading it. Over 5 years a homedbrew DVR PC would be cheaper but I don't want to deal with maintaining another set of hardware and training family members on yet another interface. The TiVo works exactly like and sits extactly where the settop box was.
