Comment Nintendo did this with the 3DS (Score 1) 25

They even added a SNES Virtual Console as an exclusive to the faster system, and pretty much required the new hardware to run Smash Brothers.

I'm going to guess that the Pro won't be bought by many current PS5 owners, but rather by people on the fence about getting a PS5 in the first place. I wonder if the speedier hardware will make PS4 games run better?

I realize many of the vocal people on the internet are people aged below 30. That age group will always have a high auto insurance rate, because you're taking road trips, going out drinking, doing risky/impulsive things, and can't stop looking at your phones while driving.

Age 30-40 are taking the whole family on road trips. Now you've got a car full of biological distractions to manage in addition to futzing with a phone/infotainment navigation system.

Age 40-60 is generally okay as long as you don't have a mid-life-crisis fancy sports/muscle car. Or a Harley.

Beyond 60 is when your insurer may start considering you a feeble driver and you might be seen as risky again.

It's almost as if the climate is changing... as it's had for billions of years. Long before we came along, and long after we're gone. The Earth was never created for humans to exist on it. Conditions eventually became right for us to exist. But that doesn't mean they always will, or were meant to remain that way.

Barring random network connection interruptions, and potential security issues, the simplest problem is one of cost. You either accept the new, higher fee they want to charge you, or you go through the hell (and expense) of putting all your operations back on your own servers, and staff the server room.

Perhaps 1990-2010s-era server rooms will be back, but hopefully with better monitoring and remote assistance, because any sysadmin will tell you, the budget to get everything you'd want to run the system well won't be given to you.

I have the Plus plan. Unlimited number of cameras with unlimited storage for $100/yr. And before you come at me for that price, that's less than 1 beer per month at a bar. It's worth it to me.

The Basic Plan is a trap for people who probably shouldn't be buying a non-homebrew camera set up.
