It's literally part of money laundering/corruption training that all employees MUST take their annual leave so that someone else is taking over their job for a time.
This case shows one of the reasons why.

Bell Curve it.
Make it hard enough that the average score is 50%.
Then you can easily pick out the high achievers.
What, you want to wait until the technology has ALREADY taken peoples jobs? People who develop this stuff don't just say 'Hey, the techs ready now, I'll just stick it in the warehouse for 15 years until the social programs to handle the displaced workers are ready shall I?'
I've seen the robots that will take peoples jobs - they are just too expensive to roll out YET. But just like computer prices, they are getting cheaper all the time and soon enough, they'll cost less than 5 years wages of the workers they'll be displacing and companies will buy them.
(The robots I've seen were in the agricultural area. Fruit pickers for the most part, which is currently VERY labor intensive.)
If I give 100 people $100 each, and then tax those people for $10,000
But probably a lot of people complaining about the tax rate.
Same reason that MS and other big companies get the big contracts. They market better and ask for LOTS of money.
A lot of people still think that more expensive automatically means more better.
They already do.
If they get a warrant, they can have the Service Provider send an 'update' which will make the phone do whatever they need it to so they can gather evidence of ongoing criminal activity.
What they can't do (easily) is arrest the person and THEN try to find evidence on their phone to convict them without the suspects cooperation in logging in.
While this was a thing in the movie 'Cherry 2000', in reality, even getting a contract means nothing since they can withdraw consent at ANY point.
In the throes of orgasm? Doesn't matter. If you don't pull out as soon as she says 'NO' then it's rape.
Proving that level of detail is impossible (unless filming it!), so you're fine legally. But sucks if you're a college student and they kick you out on accusation alone.
Ah, Stockholmed her did you? Stare Raped her over and over again until she thought she deserved it and came to crave it.
Bet you still say she's beautiful every day just to make her feel like it was HER fault that you despoil her body on a regular basis.
My grandmother pulled it out and held it in her hand so as to avoid breast compression.
Luckily I never had an accident with her in the car.
They already showed all the good standups, and each only does about 1 routine a year, so as soon as you've seen the 5-10 that you find funny, you're really scraping the bottom for all the B and C-listers.
It drives down wage demands.
eg. "You're asking for $78K?? I've got 10 other guys in the waiting room interviewing for this job. They'll do it for $70K."
even though they know that they'd never actually hire 8 of the 10 guys because they aren't competent enough.
Anyone who drives slower than you is an idiot.
Anyone who drives faster than you is a maniac.
Or just change the rules on euthanasia so that people can choose to check out of this life a little earlier rather than be force to live in agony as long as medical science (and health insurance?) can make possible.
To a certain extent.
I'm quite the introvert, but even I go a bit odd and start talking to myself if I've not had human contact for over 6 weeks.
It's not hard to deal with. Just join a Meetup group and there's always someone somewhere who wants to have a drink with company.

We'll get there eventually.
