With the enourmous anticipation surrounding any Id game will Rage actually change their reputation for technical prowess but poor game design skills ?
Firstly the install on the 360 comes with 3 discs (I expect it to be the same of the PC version) packed with roughly 20 gigabytes of texture data.
Installing to a hard drive is necessary and will not spare you some load times in between levels.
The first few minutes of the game are overwhelming with amazing outdoor scenes and... fixed lighting.
The environment is fairly static and dynamic elements are close to non-existent.
The textures and the general lighting, however, are a nice change from Doom 3's dark corridors; this doesn't however change much gameplay wise.
If you like corridor/drama FPS games you will like this one; in fact I'd recommend it despite the associated deja-vu feelings.
If you like games with some originality, sorry guys, but once again what you are looking for is not an Id game.

Now it looks as if the project is going ahead. The first phase is to digitize all of Babbage's papers and designs. These will be available to the general public in 2012. Even more people are going to pirate movies instead of going to the theater simply because they want a plain 2D version so they don't get a horrible headache after viewing it.
Also added to the usual reasons of why people avoid theaters if they can: can take breaks whenever, watch at whatever time they like, on whatever gear they have/can afford, no annoyances like loud or tall people, and a better selection of snacks and drinks.
