That process that doctors are warning about is though not the same process as is involved with making lab grown meat. The warned about process is adding stuff to the product to both increase consumption (i.e add sugars and fats to make it taste better) and to make it cheaper (replace stuff with artificial flavouring and so on).

if so then it would be easy for the bsd and solaris guys to patch systemd to just zones and jails istead of cgroups, yet we don't see that now do we. Also looking at the actual Jail syscall there is nothing there that even reassembles cgroups, it looks more like a combination of chroot and LXC. So sounds more like you have to read up on cgroups.

Comment Re:SystemD is a virus (Score 1) 317

cgroups is not the Linux equivalent of either Jails or Zones, sounds like you confuses cgroups with chroot or something. Doesn't matter that cgroups is GPL since you cannot just copy something like cgroups anyway due to difference in how the kernels work, the concept though is open and the source is there so you can see how it's written.

yes and no, systemd uses functionality that only exists in Linux at the moment. However there is zero stopping any other OS out there from implementing the missing thing, cgroups. In contrast with Windows this is all open source and open specifications so cgroups is open to anyone wanting to implement them.

actually run0 doesn't need any of that because it is not run with root privileges as sudo does being a SUID binary. The part that executed the destination binary as root in systemd is the very same one that launches the system demons that have been there since day one in systemd that is as vetted and scrutinized as you whish, and btw sudo is far from battle tested, there was at least 10 CVE:s launched for it just last year.

also most of those bugs in the early days of pulse was not in pulse but in alsa since pulse used more advanced functionality in alsa that no one had used before so many of the audio drivers had simply not even been tested for that functionality. That is why it worked flawless for some and complete disaster for others.
