70-Year-Old Naval Technology Could Pave a Path for a Nuclear Energy Revolution

  • Sounds great as long as all those civilian power plants are run with the same military-style culture, accountability , chains of authority and intense training. What would it look like for a civilian company to replicate that company culture? Would they have to send new employees to Boot Camp to ensure they respect authority and follow all the rules, and have the humility to mention something going wrong? The technology isnâ(TM)t the only problem basically.
    • Maybe it would be easier to let the Navy run civilian power plants, than to have to replicate that culture/structure anew.

The culture already exists. Nuclear plants have been in use since the 1900's and the culture has been in place and refined to excruciating detail.
The quality of employees are, from my observation, a higher quality than Naval employees (enlisted and officers).

I guess that you have never worked at a USA Nuclear plant --> They already do this.
      There are very strict protocols!
      Safety First!

The unfacts, did we have them, are too imprecisely few to warrant our certitude.
