Shop Pay Reviews

Summary: I cringe when using Shop Pay is my only option. I always email or call the vendor and ask if Shop Pay is really the only option. That is how bad it is.

Positive: Looks pretty and that is about all it has going for it. Plenty of white space and it is a good clean looking interface.

Negative: Doesn't work well and has usability bugs. Issues with the address map. Issues with zip code validation. Issues with phone number validation. Issues with configured discounts not being added.

Summary: Shop Pay is impossible to override on websites and delays payments too far in advance. It is difficult to sign into my Shop Pay account and it's not worth it, in my opinion, to use. I'd give this app zero stars if it were an option. I'd rather use PayPal, which is more user-friendly and secure.

Positive: The only good thing is you don't have to save any info such as shipping/billing address or credit card. But PayPal saves the info with less hassle.

Negative: It is too difficult to sign into the website. It is like a bully, overriding other options on websites and giving me no option to pay by another method.

Summary: I purchased a gift magazine subscription and had it mailed directly to the recipient. A few days later, I ordered coffee online from a vendor I have been using for years. Several days later I got a call saying that my coffee had been delivered to the wrong person at the wrong address because it was sent to the magazine gift recipient. I checked my account at the coffee vendor, and ShopPay had BROKEN INTO MY ACCOUNT AND CHANGED MY DEFAULT NAME AND ADDRESS. It wasn't until I contacted the coffee vendor that I realized that: a) ShopPay was the 3rd-party payment collector in both cases and that b) ShopPay was STALKING ME ACROSS THE WEB. I never agreed to do business with ShopPay, I knew nothing about them till this happened. I complained the BBB in Canada (Shopify is a Canadian corporation) and Shopify just blew me off. They didn't care one whit.

Positive: Nothing. I'm not sure why I have to fill out the Pros section because I have absolutely nothing positive to say about Shopify or ShopPay. As far as I am concerned, they should be charged with Criminal Stalking on the internet.

Negative: Shopify kept information from a gift purchase from one vendor without my permission and then changed my account shipping address with another vendor without my knowledge so that another purchase (not a gift) was shipped erroneously. In neither case did I consent to do business with Shopify/ShopPay

Summary: I end up not even shopping at websites that require Shop Pay. I cannot login with ease. The login process takes numerous login attempts. It is very demotivating, time consuming and frustrating to login in a regular manner. Then be required to login again. Then several times after that. By that time I am so frustrated I need up just not buying whatever I was intending to buy and just leave or buy the item elsewhere.

Positive: NONE. NOTHING IS OF VALUE WHEN USING SHOP PAY. I end up not even shopping at websites requiring the use of Shop Pay. The best thing about Shop Pay is that I end up not buying anything became I have only experienced negative interaction with this app. It is a total waste of the user and the merchant as they lose customers due to requiring the customer use the Shop Pay app.

Negative: Makes Logging in 100 times more difficult, laborious, tedious, time consuming, frustrating. You go to login to a website, you login then have to login several more times because of the Shop Pay feature. It is infuriating to say the least.

Summary: FRUSTRATING TO SAY THE LEAST.

Positive: Absolutely none at all.

Negative: Beware. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I finally resorted to stopping payment on my order after getting the round and round over and over. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. This site is a scam and a fraud ,Do not give them your money.

Summary: Poor.

Positive: Scammed multiple times, multiple payments taken nearly 30000 so far, advise not to use. Contacted company but no help.

Negative: Everything about the service is bad no other words.

Summary: Ordered a one-time pay order through Shop Pay. Had to return one of three items. Vendor refunded Shop Pay, but Shop Pay won't take responsibility for why they didn't refund my credit card. They just say it's between me and my credit card company. They refuse to provide any proof that they refunded my card, and just keep me bouncing between the vendor, who has provided proof of refund to Shop Pay, and my bank, who has no record of refund.

In other words, shop pay kept the money from the vendor; very simply, this is theft. Finally gave up after 2 months, deleted Shop Pay account, and reported to BBB.

Positive: Nothing. Very poor customer service and basically just give you the runaround instead of providing support.

Negative: Won't refund money, just gives runaround and won't take responsibility for lost refund.

Summary: TERRIBLE. I will never buy anything using this app again!!!! I will never use Shop Pay again.

Positive: NOTHING! I will never use Shop Pay again. Total BS with no customer service. I will just say STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!!

Negative: Shop Pay totally tricked me into thinking I was getting a huge discount. They even showed it on the total when I went to check out. Then, as I got my receipt in my email, it should I paid the full amount. I was able to cancel the order through the company, but this is BAD BUSINESS!!!

Summary: Scams I spoke with Rep then ask for Supervisor got one to disconnect the call shop pay is a scam to telling me that they do loans how when I paid for this merchandise through your website.

Positive: My first time being ask to pay through Shop Pay so I used my CC to make the $79.49 payment on the 19th of December 2023 I was told I would receive my package in 7 business days with me getting a order number 1892 and the merchant Weights N Lipstick I reached out to them and company and was told first I wouldn’t be getting a refund how does that work when you have not even sent the package this was my first time going to both website After I get this resolve I will not ever order anything from this company Weights and Lipstick I sent a message to Messenger and call both companies to get a reply that they are working with other companies I think this is one of the biggest SCAMS I have know reported both Weight N Lipstick and Shop Pay to the BBB now back to my bank to dispute this transaction but to be told by a company you spent your money with your not getting it back was like a huge BLOW.

Negative: Scams Weight N Lipstick as well as Shop Pay is not telling me my tracking number where is my package just I’m not getting my 79.49 back I reported both of them to BBB people work hard for there money to be told that they are not refunded I could that if I had a tracking number are the merchandise and I don’t it have never been shipped this is a scam I will heading now to the back to dispute my payment made.

Summary: Awful. Will never do business with them again. They sided with a scamming company and helped them steal my hard earned money. These people are not to be trusted.

Positive: Nothing is good about this scamming, lying company. If I could give 0 stars I would. RUN don't use them.

Negative: I was scammed by a furniture company called stunning furniture. They sent me incomplete pieces to the wrong sofa and told me they would send the rest and never did. I contacted shop pay in efforts to get a refund and stop payments and they declined me.

Summary: Misleading representation of the cost of Blaze Pods.

Positive: None whatever, this payment platform should be able to let the consumer know the currency that the purchase is made in.

Negative: I bought a Blaze Pod set up and no where was there any indication that it was in USD. Being from Canada it cost me hundreds of dollars in exchange and import brokerage fee that were never disclosed.

Summary: Horrible. I will not use Shop Pay or Shopify.

Go ahead, try to convince me it is free! It's a joke.

Positive: The constant pop-ups and messages are annoying. I have no desire to use this service and there is no way to block their crap. I certainly have a bad impression of Shopify as a result. If I find a Shopify website, I get out rather than dealing with this annoyance.

Negative: In your face no matter what. The pop ups and text messages never stop.

Summary: Very stressful and illegal!!!!

Positive: There is nothing!!!

Negative: Please do not use Shop Pay!!! They take your money and do not support you at all with customer care!! They are highly unprofessional and only want to take your money from you!

Summary: Crap. Useless. Liars.don’t trust them. They take fees out of your bank account and say they are pre -auth fees and they are not. A pre auth shouldn’t deduct $ out of your account.

Positive: Nothing. Liars and scammers. Not to be trusted. Take fees and hard to get it back. Had to lodge a bank dispute.

Negative: Charged my credit card a fee of which they say is a holding authorisation fee and should not show as taken out but lies as it did deduct the fee and I have photos to prove it. DON’T TRUST

Summary: HORRIBLE & UNPROFESSIONAL!!

They take the full amount of the purchase out of your account instead of the 4 payment installment that you select and that they say that you are approved for!!

Positive: NOTHING this is a SCAM.
Where they False advertise!!

Negative: They Say You're Approved For The Four Pay Installment Agreement Then Take The Full Amount That You Did Not AUTHORIZE!!
