Summary: Their update process is the easiest and most reliable of any monitoring solution I've used. Most monitoring and alerting systems require months of work to deploy where PRTG is useful within a few days of effort.

Positive: Fast and easy to deploy with a large feature set.
It scales well by using multiple probes.
The desktop client is nice.
Security assignments are easy when they are tied to Active Directory Groups.

Negative: Map design is more difficult than it should be and they have an outdated look to them.

Summary: The experience in use, administration, configuration and support of the product has been very good. Over the years, features and functionality have been improved.

Positive: Easy to use. Lots of information and help manuals. Nice design
Possibility of customizing the tool with multiple functionalities, API type.

Negative: Price. On some occasions, the total cost of the product, the client may opt for other utilities that in the long run are more costly to administer.

Summary: However, PRTG is a great monitor tool. It helps us to review whole devices and servers' status so we can manage them easily.

Positive: Have a whole monitor view for my network devices, I can adjust the monitor settings easily. And handle multi-model devices & servers.

Negative: There are still some kinds of devices' sensors need to be created by default library.

Summary: Overall, it seems that the overall ability of the PRTG is still evident to all, all aspects are in a relatively balanced posture, there is no special place to excel, there are not too many shortcomings, just like the barrel effect, very balanced.
And to be able to integrate so many functions in such a lightweight volume I think is its greatest feature.
And the speed of PRTG updates is also very fast, which is a good sign for an IT company.

Positive: It's hard to believe that PRTG can do so much in such a small size!
It can basically meet all your network, server, application, storage, and virtualization needs.
The most memorable thing for me was PRTG's ability to grab the data that needed to be monitored at a very fast frequency.
So I think PRTG is light, fast, simple and easy to use.

Negative: After all, the size is here, and it is extravagant to think that PRTG can achieve more perfect functions. The disadvantage is that it cannot achieve the IP address management and configuration management necessary in network management.
Also the topology diagram is a factor that I don't like, PRTG's topology diagram does not allow for high degree of freedom of connection.

Summary: Have used several monitoring tools (Nagios, ...) throughout my career in IT, this is by far the most "satisfying" one.

Positive: Tons of perfectly fitting Tools/Probes to be implemented, the real all in one solution for everyone, who has to monitor Servers or Applications.

Negative: The only thing one could complain about is the necessity of more than one license when setting up in completely separated and untrusted domains, as I do not get all ports open in between. But that is more an internal problem here in my company than one of the PRTG Software.

Summary: I use the product for surveillance and system monitoring in an enterprise environment on a daily basis.

Positive: Continuous development and updating as well as specialist support are trump cards in an enterprise environment.

Negative: It should also be possible to use it on linux systems as well as for windows ones.

Summary: We are a nonprofit religious organization with five campuses. We have a very lean IT team but are able to maintain thousands of network endpoints; primarily because PRTG keeps a pulse on the health of the infrastructure. PRTG quite literally equates to the value of a full-time staff member in the amount of oversight it provides for us. We are able to be so much more proactive than we would without it.

Positive: Sensors and devices are arranged in a logical and intuitive order that vastly simplifies management. The autodiscover feature makes initial onboarding of devices much easier. PRTG is exceptionally reliable and the auto-update feature keeps us current. The amount of data points it collects is astounding - over 2.4 million scans per day in our case. However, it's so easy to distill that down to usable dashboards and only the necessary alerts. The iOS app is also fantastic.

Negative: The ticketing feature hasn't been very useful for us, but I'm learning that's usually because of user error or that I've misunderstood how a component works. It's also been difficult to understand how to add other users/departments and scope their devices accordingly.

Summary: We supervise our whole IT in only a few hours and the creation of maps is really efficient.

Positive: PRTG is really easy to use. Very simple and efficient to use.

Negative: N/A.

Summary: This is one of my favorite products. We use close to 5000 sensors with fantastic results. We have close to 100 maps at this point that we use for various monitoring.
Really hard to beat for the prices, features, and support.

Positive: Great monitoring solution with solid notification and resolution system.
Provides notification to email and phone
Easy to create custom maps of sensors so that even non-technical people can check on statuses.
Covers things from server and switches to websites and custom sensors.
Reporting on up time for KPI purposes is very useful for us as well.

Negative: Support is primarily in Germany so responses times can be off a bit.
Adding new users could be a bit easier, but that could also be attributed to something that happens so infrequently.

Summary: Overall, I am quite satisfied with the product. It has eased the network administrators to view and monitor traffic trending before looking at upgrading our infra. Engineering and Operation able to work together to accomplish same objective, to monitor network performance and plan for upgrades.

Positive: Monitoring network is now made easy with PRTG.
-Easy setup within 5-10mins to monitor few network elements.
-User friendly, able to allow user with read only access and availability of stats/data historically.
-Able to customize few graphs in one single view
-Lightweight software, doesn't have install separate services to run SMTP, webservices, etc.

Negative: The only cons, I think would be not able to set the alarms monitoring to only triggers during the selected period. (say between 8pm-11pm is the peak hours, I want the lower threshold alert to be triggered at this hour)

Summary: Incredible monitoring platform that provides perpetual licensing and self-hosting. What's not to like?

Positive: Setting up devices and monitors is painless and simple.
Web interface is easy to work with and manage.
Desktop and mobile applications are easy to work with and work very well.
Their support is top notch and very responsive.

Negative: Configuration of Antivirus can be a bit troublesome as some AVs like to mess with PRTG and its performance.

Summary: Using it for many years now and very happy with if, when adding a new device to it need to spend a little time to customize alert before it floods your mailbox.

Positive: - Many and many different sensors
- A lot of resources and knowledge base articles
- Frequent updates

Negative: - Can get pricey
- Needs a lot of customization
- Many false alerts

Summary: Very good tooling for monitoring your environment. It's easy to expand with custom sensors and development of new features goes on and on

Positive: Easy to deploy
Easy to configure most of the sensors for monitoring.
Dashboards are very useful and depending on your needs easy to make.
Howto manuals are available for most sensors
Support is good

Negative: Dashboards can be hard to configure if you want your own design and special things although the community is very helpful
Some sensors can be hard to configure

Summary: It's a tool that I've been using for over 5 years now, and the regular version upgrades as well as the effectiveness of the support allow me to have a good overall vision of the most standard aspects of our infrastructures. I continue to use it with pleasure.

Positive: Tool easy to install and use, and also to maintain.
Many sensors pre-installed by default cover a large part of a standard infrastructure

Negative: Some sensors are missing that could be useful (Kerberos authentication, HTTP support scenarios, etc.)
and the cartography editor is sometimes a little complicated to use, although very powerful.

Summary: I'm building 2 monitoring systems with PRTG 10K sensors.
It's been relatively easy to discover the network and the alarming is reliable and very quick to appear.
I highly recommend using this monitoring software, because it's easy to implement and has an intuitive interface for any type of user.
Of course, there are improvements to be made... because nothing is ever perfect.

Positive: 1. Ease in building the structure of network equipment and systems.
2. Good automatic discovery capacity
3. Good library of pre-configured sensors
4. Excellent technical support

Negative: 1. It doesn't have the facility to export to .xls or .csv, various types of alarm tables or the equipment cadastre.
2. There is a lack of pre-configured sensors for some types of equipment, such as ARISTA.
3. Refreshing the PRTG page in the browser sometimes works bad
