Summary: I didn't realize how much I loved it until it went down from a billing issue. Now I can't not have it.

Positive: I inherited this product from the previous sysadmin, we use PRTG-Hosted. I was hesitant at first, having never heard of the product. But after I got it setup properly and notifications and alerts flowing it was an easy adaptation for me to make. Documentation is pretty easy to follow too.

Negative: Configuration has a unique mindset. Easy to learn though. Otherwise I love it.

Summary: Overall happy with the PRTG monitoring and suggest others to use this simple tool for their Infrastructure.

Positive: It is very easy to add devices for minuting and setup Microsoft Teams and Email for Alerts.

Negative: sometimes some sensors do not work after the new release, however, Team help us just to fix it.

Summary: Extremely suggested if you need to monitor any device in your environment and receive alerts when your configs are triggered.

Positive: You can monitor everything using SNMP and all sensor included inside it, over the custom sensor you can choose for your scope.

Negative: Reporting could be better, especially for ping sensors (top 100) that does not provide cvs data exportation feature, but it's ok for all the remaining options.

Negative: I would like to install on simple and cheap raspberry device but is not possible.

Summary: Overall it's good to monitor all the device statuses and the error and emergency logs. This will make everything much easier.

Positive: PRTG support manual sensor, we can create manual sensor based on our requirements. It also supports Syslog which is the best catch. We can configure the syslog sensor to capture all the error events.

Negative: After configuring SNMP v3 there is not much sensor that is automatically added.

Summary: We use PRTG to monitor many customers' networks, for us it is a necessary tool to identify and mitigate the problem faster. we also use it as an analysis tool to identify the causes of the problem, having multiple pre-configured sensors that are easy to use.we are able to monitor all of our customers' networks by providing a proactive service.

Positive: It is simple to implement.
It has the ability to be customized on individual customer needs.
The use of the system is intuitive for all people.

Negative: We have had some problems getting false positives with Meraki products.

Summary: It performs monitoring, alerting and reporting easily and with minimal maintenance. We have been using PRTG for more than 10 years and compared to other commercial platforms, it is by far the most painless to configure, use and maintain.

Compared with other similar platforms, it's totally painless in most aspects.

Summary: We have been using PRTG from last 4 years. It is most reliable and best tool for monitoring the large network. Apart from networking devices we are monitoring our Azure cloud servers. No other tools can beat it in accuracy and its extended features irrespective of devices make and models.

Positive: PRTG is the most standard and reliable software for network monitoring, it's customer support is very friendly and helpful. Its implementation is easier and can monitor every possible network devices and servers, even the AWS and Azure cloud servers.

Negative: 1.little bit high cost compared to other NMS tools

Summary: Great for simple single-site setup like ours. We utilize PRTG daily for basic health-checks of UPS units, switches, servers, and websites. Lets us know upon up and down status. Great product!

Positive: Excellent granularity and customization. Can monitor pretty much anything on the network, very helpful to keep track of ssl cert and ssl cert health. Also excellent community with plenty of custom script options- even our old VNX health!

Negative: Some non-intuitive setup imho. Pricing per monitor can get to be tough to manage. Had a brief issue with emails not working, but turn-out I guess I upgraded too quickly before the bugs were fixed, another release just a few days after resolved the issue.
