    Lightspeed: A Great POS System, even better customer service

    Summary: Coming from our previous POS, which wasn't cloud based or as dynamic as Lightspeed, we didn't have anywhere near the capabilities we have now. Super happy to use Lightspeed every day and take advantage of this simple, but robust software experience.

    System is fast, responsive, dynamic, and cloud based.

    Negative: Early on, our payments processor was sometimes failing and we'd lose access for a few hours at a time. That issue seems to have been corrected.

    Summary: We went through all the growing pains with Lightspeed being one of the early adopters. Through that time they always offered great support and the promise of great things to come if we stuck with them. It was always a great system for its time that was very affordable with no huge up-front costs. Today Lightspeed fits all our needs as both a brick n mortar POS as well as our ecommerce provider. Making changes on the ecommerce side is easy for us to manage on our own. Reports and accounting functions are easy and informative. Even after 15 years being with Lightspeed I'd still make the same choice over and over again.

    The Software Anyone Can Use

    Summary: Lightspeed has been a key to our success as a small business. I can't imagine doing my job without it. Some software start out with good customer care but after you are on board it goes down hill. Not so with Lightspeed! They have been 100% from day 1

    Positive: Lightspeed is very intuitive, so much so anyone can use it. From on-boarding to the actual using of the product it is simple and straightforward. They have a very extensive help section that guides you through any situation, and if you can't figure it out there their customer service is point on. Moving to the cloud has been amazing, I love the ability to be able to access my store information at anytime anywhere.

    Negative: I have a hard time finding anything I don't like about Lightspeed. I thinking the reporting is the area I struggle with the most, only because I don't use it as often for the more detailed reporting. The day to day again is very easy to use and understand.

    Time is one thing you can't replace. Stop wasting it

    Summary: Awesome. The rare call to their support is answered or returned within an hour. The issue has always been user error and they have walked me through the fix . The stability of the system is amazing. Yes it has went down a couple of times in the last 4 years. Never for more than an hour

    Positive: LS is the best POS I have used for multi store operation. In the last eight years I have broken Bindo, NCR and Quickbooks. None of them could accurately track inventory transfers. Sometimes they would not populate or would just add ghost products and our inventory was a disaster. I would spend hours trying to get it straight. Trying to place PO's when you cannot trust your inventory counts is unacceptable. I have used LS the last four years and have never had an issue with multi store PO's or transfers and I execute an average of 15 per week with multiple vendors. The hours saved is well worth the few extra dollars. Like and believe in LS so much I invested in their stock.

    Negative: I wish it was less expensive, but you do get what you pay for. I have lost countless hours with other POS. What is your time worth? I'd rather see my grandsons baseball game or play golf than have to look for inventory.

    Solid POS Platform

    Summary: I really like that I am able to customize our register and integrate third party apps & APIs easily. And the customer service, the customer service is top notch! Through migration and implementation, the Lightspeed team was right there. At a moment's notice, I can chat with the team or give them a call. Although I may be a one-woman tech team, I have help! It's such a blessing to have a support team for our business. It has been easy to integrate all of our business critical resources and provide a more unified experience for our employees. Employees can access customer data, order data, shipping data, marketing data and product data in one platform. I've been able to customize our store template to our specific business needs and design requirements. It's been a developer's dream.

    Positive: It was super easy to setup our Lightspeed POS system. We originally bought to integrate with another eCom service. However, after using the POS side, we purchased Lightspeed eCom too! Running a retail apparel store is tough, and Lightspeed makes it a dream! Our inventory is kept up-to-date and syncs easily with our other business critical software.

    Negative: I would like to upload customer data myself. At this time, to upload customer data in bulk, I have to send the data to Lightspeed for import.

    Summary: Overall, I highly recommend Lightspeed for anyone whether you are very computer savvy or not. It's easy for me and easy for my staff -- who really are not comfortable doing much on computers -- to learn and to use. The more you play around with the software the better, of course, you become at using it and seeing all the ways it can help your business.

    Positive: It's simple to learn and to use. I love the integration between my brick and mortar store and my online store. The reporting is very good and I always know exactly how my business is doing compared to any other time period. I needed a lot of help at first and it was always available and the staff were very patient to teach me everything I needed to know to get up and running.

    Negative: I'd like the Loyalty Program to be more advanced, technologically speaking. I'd like to add photos to my texts. The texting program really brings in customers and makes a big difference. I get pushed a bit too much by sales staff to spend more before I really need to.

    Awesome Online Point of Sale System!

    Summary: We have been using Lightspeed for over 3 years. It has been a great system for our retail book/gift store. We did a lot of research on point of sale systems and it was (and still is) the best system we can find. Specifically, the software is easy to use, adaptable to most business models, and accessible anywhere. The inventory management feature continues to be superior. We are able to precisely track inventory at all times. The reporting menu is also extensive, which is super helpful. Aside from a few lengthy wait times on support (90% of the time the support is fantastic and our issue has been resolved), Lightspeed has been a great decision for us!

    Summary: If it wasn't such a pain to switch POS systems and retrain staff I would have already switched to a competitor.

    Positive: This system is relatively easy to use with some very nice features which is what made me choose them in the first place. It is an excellent system for helping with inventory management. The ecom side is also fairly easy to pick up and manage.

    Negative: Be prepared to wait 45 mins to and hour on hold for customer service. Then get pawned off on your account manager. Its been 4 days since I emailed mine and nothing. Emailed again today and now she is out until Tuesday. Currently been waiting 55 mins and 12 seconds for customer service again.
