Summary: I love working with DP. It is easy enough for someone to get started entering and using the data, but it is complex enough to be able to do a variety of complicated things as you get into it. Looking forward to exploring even more.

Positive: I've been using this software for several years now and keep learning more useful things. We use DP for everything from receipting donors to generating a newsletter mailing list; tracking volunteer info to managing our golf events. I love that DP listens to it's users and implements the ideas users have for making positive changes. The support team at DP cannot be beat. Whenever I need to call support I am connected with someone who knows what they are talking about and also is very courteous and patient. The training webinars they offer are awesome as well.

Negative: The only thing we have had significant problems with is the event management tool. We would like to be able to generate spreadsheets and reports with custom fields that are in events management as well as those in DP itself but apparently they don't talk well together, and as of now you can only use certain pre-made reports. Entering and using the information could be easier and more intuitive.

Summary: It has been very useful to track our donor's. I have been happy with it.

Positive: It is a great way to manage donor's. It is easy to navigate, and the if I have questions, Donor Perfect has great support.

Negative: The price is a little high for non profit's. We wish it was a little cheaper.

Summary: With the extra training at their headquarters, user conference and phone and email support, I have become a super user of this database. Its one of the best I have used and I have used several databases throughout the years.

Positive: receipts and acknowledgments, user friendly, always find ways to make the database better through customer input

Negative: reporting functions

Summary: Overall a really intuitive software that will track all of your gifts and wrap all your data up in a pretty report. This is a good choice for small or large nonprofits.

Positive: The amount of information you can pull for reports is incredible. Anything you enter into DP can be pulled in some report. There is a DonorPerfect Community where you can go to ask other users questions and get helpful tips and tricks for running reports, using DP Mobile, and much more. If you can’t find what you need within the Community pages, then you can always call DP customer support to speak to trained tech support. Customer support answers quickly and will email you a summary of your call when you are finished. You can keep the instructions to refer back to in the future. A newer feature is Chat Support that is also helpful for quick questions.

Negative: When a tribute/memorial gift is made online and the donor lists the recipient's name differently than how it appears in DP, DonorPerfect will create a whole new tribute instead of allowing the user to select the already existing tribute. When this occurs, you end up with multiple tributes for the same person, the only difference is maybe one shows the middle name and the other does not. Also, there are a bunch of reports that can be ran, but it isn't always easy to know which report you should use. You may need to create a calculated field and it's not always clear when that is needed or how to do it.

Summary: I like it. Well placed donor software. I like the service, and quality of the product.

Positive: I like how organized DonorPerfect keeps up with donations and donors. It's made our lives easier.

Negative: Cannot think of anything offhand. Once you get used to the program, it's easy to navigate.

Summary: There was little support included in the importing and the prior software we were using did not import very well directly to DP. 2 years later we are cleaning up data that, with more support on the sales end, could have been imported to the proper areas. If we had more guidance to help import our data properly that would have alleviated much of the frustrations we experienced over the last couple years.

Positive: The screens are user friendly, reading data is easy to read and navigate. The reporting opportunity is great!

Negative: Pulling reports can be very challenging. You almost need experience in computer programming to design the reports to pull and then set up your filters properly. Then there's a template that the info falls into... There are too many steps to pull data and get what you want to output.

Summary: Great so far. I really enjoy the program. Everyone needs the 2 day training.

Positive: Great program, good customer service. Sarah is a great trainer.

Negative: 6 hours of training is not enough. It should include the 2 day training that I attended in Toronto. Gives much more information on reporting.

Summary: Overall, this is a great system if you want a robust CRM with fundraising capabilities. It has a lot of the same functionality you'd see in larger systems like Razor's Edge, but for a significantly more affordable price point. As someone who helped implement the system, uses it daily as an administrator and user, this is a great system. We have previously used Sage Fundraising 50 and Abila Elevate, so this is a huge step up for us.

Positive: Donor Perfect has a lot of pros! Cloud based platform to be able to access anywhere, ability to run off of mobile for events and in person meetings, integration with add on features like ReadySetAuction and Constant Contact, the ability to easily set up your own giving pages for various events, scholarships, or specific giving appeals. Reporting features can give you pretty much anything you want if you know how to ask for it. Another great feature is data import.... if you have monthly payroll donors that may change one or two a month but need to regularly import large amounts of data, DPO has this available. It's useful for events too.

Negative: The system can be overwhelming for new users, especially if you don't have the paid support feature. There are a lot of add on features, but they all come with a price. It can be pretty expensive for a small non profit that only has a handful of employees or one or two people that are using the system. Reporting can be complicated and difficult even for experienced users. Events management is extremely difficult and complicated, and lacking in a lot of featueres. We do not suggest using it for events management.

Summary: Overall, this is a good fit for our small organization. I would recommend this tool to other colleagues.

Positive: DP is very easy to use. Tutorials and online webinars are great when learning the basics. There are many features DP offers that I want to explore. I love the community chat and live help available when I have questions!

Negative: Unfortunately, I was hired on 3 months AFTER the organization chose to go with Donor Perfect. The software wasn't the wrong choice, in my opinion. The staff member that organized implementation merged our QuickBooks info and created a mess to try and clean up. This resulted in many hours of clean up work.

I would have liked to have options with more personalized training as opposed to free online tutorials. The conferences are a great option but timing and funds did not work in our favor.

Summary: Donor Perfect has become the single repository for all of our donor records. Previous to DP, donor records were kept in spreadsheets scattered across numerous computers. Finding all records in one location has improved the efficiency of the agency. We are now easily able to create mailing lists, track donations, and quickly send thank you letters.
A bonus is the partner relationships. We seamlessly merge our email records from Donor Perfect to Constant Contact for email communications. The donor gateway is huge step up from relying on PayPal for donations. We have access to so much more information from our online donors and the form builder works well with our website.
I truly appreciate Donor Perfect.

Negative: The report builder component is not very intuitive and difficult to create simple reports.

Summary: Such a robust donor management software. Five years in and I'm still discovering new ways to use this system and the data it provides to raise more money. Pretty intuitive, but anytime I stumble on a roadblock, DP customer service/techs are always there to help.

Positive: -Customizable reporting
-Easy screen designer to customize fields unique to your organization
-Customer service is great

Negative: It can be frustrating when a user-created filter doesn't do what you want it to do. But DP techs (chat is great too) can usually help me figure it out.

Summary: DP support is excellent and we are able to achieve everything we need to in our nonprofit organization.

Positive: Easy to use. Helps track changes in donors and constituents contact information and giving history. Integrates well into Constant Contact allowing for email communications to our data base.

Negative: Doesn't have direct email capability. Dual addresses are not super easy to manage.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoying this database platform. I would like to be able to "teach myself" a bit more via webinars, but currently only knowledge base is available unless paying for additional subscription.

Positive: Customizable fields and reports abound

Negative: Live webinars should be free. Currently only recorded webinars are free and they are limited topic-wise

Summary: I am beginning to have a deeper appreciation for DPO software, but I wish there was "standard training" for a new DPO user working directly with each ministry (by having a client rep) for a more customized training at a more affordable cost to seal nonprofits

Summary: It definitely helps to keep up our care of donors, giving, doing reports, etc.
