    Onboarding is Tough

    Summary: We love the opportunities with DP. We are getting better at understanding the software capabilities and utilizing the data day by day. I hope to have our data clean and properly coded by January 2020. We began this process in January 2018.

    Positive: The opportunities for granular data collection and reporting are endless. That is fabulous. Entering donors is simple. The DP staff is great.

    Negative: The platform is so broad that it is intimidating. While the staff provides excellent support, the availability of that support is limited. Many small to mid-sized orgs cannot afford the support packages that they need to learn and maintain the software in the first few years of use. Had we not invested in the CNC the last 2 years, I don't think we would have been able to onboard DP the way we have. When sales staff discusses the capabilities of DP, they don't tell you those features are priced separately. Some of the features should have been included in the basic platform. They made it sound like they were. That still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Integrity is important to me. I felt lied to.

    Great platform for orgs new to development

    Summary: I haven't been using donorperfect for very long, but it seems to be very easy to pick up. I am not the primary user for our organization, but the platform has not been difficult to learn.

    Positive: Easy to pick up , comprehensive ways to view donor information and segmented in ways that make sense for viewing various parameters

    Negative: doesn't have a place to view open solicitations in the platform

    Summary: It is a great platform that is intuitive to you and great at updating the system according to suggestions from the community.

    Positive: Donor Perfect has many security features built in it. I appreciate all the ways to customize the system including smart actions.

    Negative: The database does not have a module for open solicitations.

    Great but not very intiuitive

    Summary: Overall I love the concept and the capabilities of the software. However, for the average "Joe" with a short attention span, it's a lot to remember and digest, especially when managing hundreds to thousands of donors.

    Positive: Various add ons and features pertinent for your organization
    Learning sessions to better navigate the site and its functions
    Customer support for live support and questions

    Negative: Too many functions with vague descriptions
    Have to pay for additional/advanced features
    Convoluted navigation (lots of steps to complete one function)

    Summary: It has been good over all, but I worked in RE for 8 years and it was hard for my brain to acclimate to DPO because I was used to doing things differently.

    Positive: Cloud-based software, easy access, nice reporting options

    Negative: I get frustrated when I want to design a new report. It never seems to produce the data I want.

    Summary: I like it. Well placed donor software. The breakout sessions are good at the conference.

    Positive: Drag and release options as well as reporting options. I loved the option to have had a one on one with individuals at the conference. Great software options.

    Negative: A lot of filters. Does not integrate well with Quick books.

    Gets the job done but UX needs improvement

    Summary: Once you know how to use DP it's great, but it takes way too much time/effort to learn how to use DP: make DP more intuitive

    Positive: DP has an amazing user support department. DP team is very responsive to issues and the platform offers solid training resources

    Negative: In general, the site is not very intuitive. I'm probably one of the youngest demos of people using DP (I'm 23), and I regularly struggle to navigate the site. I'm lucky in that, when I started using DP, my boss had been using it for several years and could provide in-person support; without him, I think I would have struggled a lot to understand the platform. I get that there are trainings and such, but ideally users wouldn't need to sit through 10+ hours of training to use the platform easily/effectively.

    Summary: Being new to donorperfect, I know that I have a lot to learn, but attending the conference has already shed light on things that I can take advantage of to make donorperfect an essential tool.

    Positive: Smart actions, ability to personalize, depth of the database (how much detail you are able to add)

    Negative: Handling volunteers and volunteer groups, lack of column totals on reports page (wish it were more detailed)
