Description
Augmented Reality has been a topic of discussion for many years, often showcased in films and promotional content, while the concept of the Metaverse remains a hot topic. Despite this ongoing dialogue, there remains a noticeable lack of practical, engaging, and accessible AR experiences in daily life. Enter the Perceptus Platform, which empowers AR applications with the capability to perceive their surroundings. Created by Singulos Research through innovative methods in computer vision and artificial intelligence, Perceptus facilitates the real-time recognition and tracking of physical items within various 3D settings. Remarkably, it operates seamlessly on mobile devices, bridging the gap between the physical and digital realms by developing visual perception across time and space. By employing dynamic object understanding, Perceptus surpasses conventional AI and image processing methodologies. This groundbreaking approach allows the platform to interpret objects in real-time, accommodating users as they navigate freely through diverse 3D environments while enhancing their engagement with augmented experiences. As AR continues to evolve, solutions like Perceptus could redefine how we interact with technology in our daily lives.
Description
Designed for organizations that create extensive and intricate prototypes, the aim is to minimize the variety of prototype iterations produced. smartAR™ superimposes a digital counterpart onto a live camera view of a tangible object, ensuring that the CAD model’s scale, placement, and orientation align with the physical item. Users view the digital twin through a tablet, which is closely monitored by an external motion tracking system that observes both its position and orientation. This tracking facilitates remarkable precision when aligning the digital twin with the physical object. As users navigate around the real-world item, the virtual images displayed on the tablet stay consistently fixed in relation to the object. Furthermore, virtual data can be accurately positioned on the real-world object, achieving a precision of better than 3 millimeters in most stationary perspectives. The TGX software from Mechdyne allows for seamless access to high-resolution CAD files from centralized workstations or servers, effectively reducing latency on the tablet, thus enhancing the user experience. This combination of technologies not only streamlines the prototyping process but also ensures that users can interact with their designs in a more effective and realistic manner.
