Description

Lira RDP Security provides essential protection for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), hosting companies, and internal IT departments who need to keep their Windows Servers accessible via Remote Desktop. Utilizing a streamlined Windows agent, it communicates authentication details and operational status to a centralized portal, enabling authorized personnel to manage RDP threats, implement both temporary and permanent access blocks, enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) on a per-user basis, and oversee various environments. Additionally, the platform offers capabilities for managing updates and reboot schedules, configuring Microsoft Defender, establishing firewall rules, monitoring disk and service health, ensuring local-user visibility, handling RDP TLS certificates, and facilitating controlled deployments of agents. It is important to note that while Windows and RDP passwords undergo validation through the Windows system, they are neither collected nor stored by Lira, ensuring an added layer of security for users. This comprehensive approach allows organizations to maintain a robust security posture while managing their remote access solutions efficiently.

Description

The system tracks the logs on your server to identify unsuccessful login attempts. When a specific threshold of failed attempts from one IP address is reached, that address gets blocked for a predetermined duration. Numerous Windows Server machines face relentless attacks, as network scanners and RDP brute-force tools operate continuously. Over time, these tools could potentially discover a valid password, compromising your server's security. Additionally, RDP brute-force attacks can strain server resources, including CPU, RAM, Disk Space, and Network Bandwidth. Check your server's Security EventLog; how many failed login attempts are recorded there? You might find thousands of unsuccessful login attempts originating from a single IP address, indicating an ongoing effort to breach your server's defenses. It's crucial to monitor these logs regularly to enhance your security posture.
