Description

Primus serves as the collection management system utilized by over 200 museums and cultural heritage institutions across Norway and Sweden. This system is meticulously designed to protect and organize information regarding collections and their associated objects, along with the various tasks and routines related to them. It is capable of managing both extensive and smaller collections effectively. Additionally, Primus includes features for the registration of diverse object types and caters to a variety of management requirements. When collections are digitized using Primus, they can be swiftly made accessible to the public through DigitaltMuseum, thanks to its integration with that platform. This connection not only streamlines the process but also promotes widespread digital access to numerous collections. Furthermore, it aligns with cultural policy objectives aimed at enhancing the digitization of collections and improving the digital discourse surrounding them. As a result, Primus plays a crucial role in bridging cultural heritage with modern technology.
