Good way to keep track of artifacts Date: May 27 2020
Summary: Overall, I like PastPerfect. It is a great way to keep your collection data in a digital manner especially for smaller museums.
Positive: I like PastPerfect because you can enter artifacts and books separately. It is easy to enter information and search for items.
Negative: For donor information and making reports it is not the best.

Solid Program for Collections Date: May 27 2020
Summary: PastPerfect suits our needs for our collections. The new, cloud-based version seems a bit pricey, but having access remotely is critical in this day and age.
Positive: PastPerfect is a good product to digitize collections. It is fairly easy to use. We have had several interns come in to do archival work for us and they quickly pick up on what fields to fill out.
Negative: The interface for the desktop version is pretty clunky. It is very Windows-99esque and backing up can be a bit confusing. Definitely take advantage of any training and support you are offered.
