Bookinglayer Description
All-in-one booking system that allows you to manage and sell your activities and accommodation. You can take bookings directly from your website, and greatly reduce the number and frequency of phone calls required to confirm them.
Our Booking Engine allows you to sell packages and give your customers the freedom to choose how much control you want. You can use our Payment Form to collect payments using any payment method you choose. You can set up automatic reminders to pay a deposit or balance payment, and allow bookings to expire if they are not paid.
You can request information from your guest through the Guest Portal. You can ask specific questions, set up levels and select diets. The Guest Portal makes it easy to make your initial booking. Changing bookings, handling refunds, scheduling activities, assigning instructors, sending emails.

Summary: Overall a great experience, once you work out it's foibles BookingLayer is a great system and if you can't work it out - Mike from support has got your back.
Positive: Mike from Support.
The system can almost do anything, once you get the hang of it you can achieve your end goal.Negative: can seem complicated at first, but anything is possible once you get to grips with it.

Summary: Setting it up and learning , when never used a booking system before took quite some time. But after all I do not want to go back. So many of my daily tasks are automated.
Positive: We have a climbing Camp in Lao. We were looking for a booking system that besides accommodation also included climbing courses and the TAB payment systems. So far we only know about bookinglayer that could do that. Our whole booking process is now automated. A booking engine is included and has a nice design

Summary: Overall, everything is good. We finally have a system in place. I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but so far it’s working well. I think after a couple of months, once we get used to it, everything will be ideal.
Positive: Fast communication helped us move quickly in resolving the issue. Everyone is friendly and open. The program is well designed for our basic operations—more than sufficient for our needs.
Negative: program is glitching a bit(( At first, the program was a bit glitchy, and we had trouble setting up taxes since we’re based in the U.S., but in the end we managed to get everything set up.

Summary: We’ve been using Bookinglayer at Mount Logan EcoLodge for the past year and it’s been a great fit.
It allows us to manage accommodations, meals, and guided activities in one place, with a centralized calendar that makes daily operations much simpler. The flexibility is a big plus, especially for building and managing multi-component stays.

Summary: Loved working with the team, from my initial call to onboarding support, and now running live with the software. We love the product's current state and hope a few of the additional features we have suggested will be added. But all in all, we are looking forward to this relationship.
Positive: The entire onboarding process was beyond amazing. I worked with Tamara, who held our hand all the way through. I also love the customization that can be done, which there is much more to learn about. The main reason I switched away from Retreat Guru was that Booking Layer offers a customer portal space, this area where the client can land as a one-stop-shop is everythgin for us as the automated email model is hard to track.
Negative: There are a few pretty simple structural fixes that could be done to really simplify the product. Mostly around automated emails and how we configure them, I think, could be made much simpler. Other than that, the only other aspect of the product I am not so thrilled about is the "additional features" that need to be paid for to unlock. For me, I have always loved that companies offer you a full gamut of features and really help you stick with what you need. There are some things we need that I now need to pay for. But I also understand the business drivers for doing it this way.

Summary: Can't recommend it more! It automates multiple day-to-day tasks so you could focus on guest experience and business development. It consolidates all business processes really well.
Positive: Bookinglayer gave us a lot of hours back to focus on more strategic business development rather than operational work. We love how simple and intuitive it is for a first time users (once the system is set up). We absolutely love the support team - they are hands on, fast & thorough with every reply. The system is developed with thorough understanding of business processes in detail and there are regular updates and improvements in features.
Negative: The initial system set up takes a bit of time and consideration, but you have an onboarding specialist with you all the way to help with the set up and questions which is extremely helpful.

Summary: The set up for the backend was a big learning curve for me, but the customer service team (especially Mike & Tamara) have always been there for me every step of the way. They answered everything in detail, sent me links, made time for online meetings, and never made me feel like I was a pain in their butt even tho I’m pretty sure I was. It’s a great product. Sometimes it feels a bit complicated but that might just be due to my lack of experience in these things. Having my bookings automated has been worth the learning process and provided me with freedom I never had before. I’m genuinely thankful to be using Bookinglayer and am very thankful to know Mike is always there for me haha.
Positive: The platform itself covers everything you need, everything you didn’t know you needed, and things you may not need, but it’s nice to know they exist.
Negative: I’d really like to see an app version for Bookinglayer. I wouldn’t necessarily categorize the set up as a “con” but wow is there a lot of info to input.

In short, it is as good as it gets for a booking SaaS for the surfing industry , a great product with a great service component.Negative: It isn't really a con, just a wish from a die-hard system administrator of private servers. I would like to be able to have an option to make internal backups and restores of my Booking Layer configuration at will at the push of a button, even if it is not downloadable.

The only thing is that you need to take the time to get to know the programme. It has so many features that it can be quite overwhelming.
