Description
Grieg Connect Port serves as a comprehensive cloud-based port management information system (PMIS) designed for use by port authorities and terminals. It facilitates the planning and coordination of vessel calls, streamlining processes from berth requests to port operations and invoicing, while providing shared access to information for harbour masters, operations teams, finance personnel, agents, and cargo owners alike. Its various modules encompass workflows within the port community, quay planning, work order management, resource scheduling, cargo and service documentation, port GIS functionality, rental management, security protocols, ISPS compliance, reporting tools, and business intelligence capabilities. Additionally, a mobile application allows staff to monitor port-call statuses and vessel locations, generate work order reports, and engage in communication with fellow users. The system's API further allows ports to integrate operational data seamlessly with ERP systems, business intelligence tools, access control mechanisms, and national reporting frameworks. Ultimately, this system aims to synchronize vessel, service, resource, cargo, and billing information into cohesive port workflows for enhanced operational efficiency. With such capabilities, Grieg Connect Port stands to significantly improve the overall management and effectiveness of port operations.
Description
The Virtual Serial Port Driver, developed by Electronic Team, is a utility that simulates a serial port and pairs it with another virtual serial port through a virtual null modem cable.
The software is capable of fully replicating the settings of real serial ports, including support for HandFlow control and signal lines, ensuring that the virtual ports are recognized by the operating system as if they were standard hardware serial ports.
Data transmitted to one virtual COM port is instantly mirrored in the other, creating a seamless communication link. Once a pair of virtual serial ports is established, they can be located in the Device Manager and are ready for use right from system startup, even prior to user login.
For developers looking to incorporate this functionality into their applications, the Virtual Serial Port Driver can be integrated using a DLL, ActiveX, or through core level usage, allowing for the direct creation and management of virtual COM ports within their software environment.
This integration capability provides flexibility and enhances the functionality of applications that require serial communication.
