Description

Picotap is a pixel-art application designed for drawing and animating sprites, icons, and small graphics on various devices, including iPhone, iPad, Android, and Mac. Users on touchscreen devices can control a cursor from a swipe area located beneath the canvas, allowing them to avoid obscuring the pixel they are editing, while Mac users have the option to use a mouse or trackpad for drawing. The app offers a variety of tools such as shapes, selection and transformation controls, reference-image tracing, patterned fills, dither patterns, and color palettes ranging from 1 to 256 colors. Users can create animations with up to 64 frames, onion skinning effects, and manage up to eight layers, with the ability to export their work as PNG images or GIF and APNG animations. Additionally, Picotap features autosave functionality, options for backup and restore, nine drawing tutorials focused on lines, shapes, and colors, along with a Daily Theme that provides a sketch for users to trace. The app does not require users to create an account and supports a total of 13 different languages, making it accessible to a wider audience. Picotap is available for free and includes all features, with the option to make a one-time purchase to eliminate ads on supported mobile devices, enhancing the user experience.
