Aseprite allows you to create 2D animations in video games. You can create sprites, pixel-art, retro-style graphics and anything else you want about the 8-bit or 16-bit eras. It also has a color mode that tells you how many colors it can handle. The sprite contains only one mode. You cannot mix RGB images and Indexed images within the same sprite. It has a number of layers. These layers can be seen in the Timeline. The most important thing to remember is that transparent and opaque sprites have two types of layers. A sprite may only contain one background layer, but can have multiple transparent layers. It also contains animation frames. Each frame has a duration. How many milliseconds must each frame be visible on the screen when the animation is being displayed.
