Description
You might have observed that the Chromis Logo at the top has been updated. Following discussions with several people, it was determined that a more streamlined logo was necessary. This new logo is set to debut in the upcoming release of Chromis POS. We are actively developing a new version of Chromis POS, and this work is being carried out using OpenJFX version 11. The shift to OpenJFX as our development platform stems from the recent changes in Oracle's Java licensing model. New features in this version will include a loyalty program and gift card functionality, while the integrated Derby database engine will be phased out. Although Chromis POS is still in the early stages of its evolution, it has its roots in an open-source POS system called Unicenta, which was originally a fork of Openbravo. I discovered Unicenta while seeking a Point Of Sale (POS) solution for a friend's tropical fish shop, marking the beginning of this journey. As we continue to innovate and refine Chromis POS, we look forward to implementing even more enhancements in future updates.
