Journal aridhol's Journal: Military fucking organization 4
This fucking pisses me off. We were told at the beginning that we would be sent home for Christmas. For the last week, we've been trying to get information from the Admin types, so we can book flights before they're sold out.
Now today, I find out that, even if I can get a flight, its pre-tax price is more than I can afford online. But I can't even book that yet, because I don't know what dates will be on my leave pass.
They should already know how to handle stuff like this; it's not like we're the first ones to go through training this close to Christmas. But no, the people that do know what's happening guard the knowledge, as if it will give them more power over administration or some shit like that.
Great way to start the new career.

That's OK; today, our paychecks didn't get processed. Fortunately, that went directly to someone who has check-cutting authority, so we'll have them sitting on our desks tomorrow morning.

One thing I always found funny about the military was that you have to meet your timings, otherwise buddy dies etc... Now, since I always meet my timings (it's my pet peve) I get slightly irritated that no one else seems to meet their timings! Or that the timings were so out of whack because someone assumed that no one would meet the original timings. Start at 0800 means start at 0800 not 1000 after everyone shows up, gets a coffee, has a nap, et
