What the hell?

  • All I got was something about how someone else on the same subnet was trolling Slashdot. I think that a certain number of negative mods triggers the ban, regardless of the net moderation. Also possible is that there is a bug in their code.
  • I've only posted 8 comments in the last two months, and only 3 recieved negative net moderation.

    There's a fair chance that if you point this fact out to them, they'll fire back with some larger number of down-mods they pulled out of their asses. Pointing them to /~$NAME/ won't do anything, either; they'll just ignore it. Been there, done that, won't resubscribe when it runs out.

  • So I quit slashdot for a month. I also installed Privoxy so slashdot doesn't make any more Ad revenue from me.

    Next time I'll probably just quit forever, using my account as an actual troll account. No point actually posting useful stuff if that just gets you banned. May as well be banned for a reason!

    If enough users get pissed off, slashdot won't be anything. Comments make slashdot.
