Hey, Slashdot was instrumental in finding Twue Wuv for me, so I couldn't possibly leave it forever. The 14 day comment limit, however, is unfortunate for those of us who stop by only every 6-9 months. :^)

I have read your updates and am interested in your lives and would love to leave a comment expressing as much.

So, hey, Red5, congratulations on the marriage and baby and stuff! And all the other babies that have happened in the past 5 years or so for everybody else! And marriages! And diplomas! And new jobs! And sorry/congrats about the divorces!

Funny, I've been just getting more back into /. as of late. Even if just to say how horrible Beta is.

I think the beta is pretty and the functionality of journals couldn't possibly be worse than it is now, so I'm hopeful.

I haven't looked at the beta in-depth, but I like what I see, generally.

I'm hopeful that I can have a good reason to ditch FB once and for all. It's like watching a train wreck...

Agreed on the short comment posting limit being frustrating as an infrequent visitor. Though as JTS noted, without a feedback mechanism, we're stuck with just dealing with it.

I've been laid off 3 times since my last real update here on /. Also, volunteered for Afghanistan 3 times, and deployed those 3 times to various organizations. Still married here, have a second kid now, a girl. I don't post their names on line (or pics) so I'll just say older boy and younger girl :) I'm working now in Saint Louis but looking to get back to San Diego for work. Starting to get tired of working for government/military circles because of constant funding pressures, but I earn an exceptio
