MiTEG's Journal: How to make sangria

Anyone know what's best for making sangria, a merlot or cabernet? TJ's still has the Charles Shaw 2000 of both on sale for $1.99. Maybe I should use one of each?

Drinking a Beck's dark until I figure it out, looks like it may be a rough day tommorrow :-)

I'm using this recipe.

Yup, I ended up using the merlot.
The only complaint I got was that it was a bit too citrusy, maybe I'll add in some strawberries next time.

I like using a bit of rose water in sangria to kill the overkill of too much fresh fruit, it lends a ethereal floral overtone to the peircing nature of citrus.
