The transcript for McDonald v. Chicago is now available. I don't have the time yet to read through it all but have printed a copy and will be updating this journal later with my thoughts about it.

I read the transcript over lunch yesterday, and it appears from the comments of the justices that the question is not "should we incorporate the 2nd amendment," but rather the scope of that incorporation.
The only one who seemed to not be on board with that concept was Breyer--even Sotomayor seemed to be leaning in that direction (and, IIRC, she ruled in the opposite in a similar case some years ago) though I think it would be a VERY limited right indeed under her view, and not at all what was intended by ei
