Journal KGIII's Journal: Troll Motivations 3

My karma is so high that I am now limited to waiting a rather long time before I am able to submit a new response. It seems to me that it would be the other way around but it isn't. This might be seen as incentive to make trolling/flame responses, if my karma were lower I'd get to post more often.

It must be getting time to have a drunken night of random reality posts.

"Sorry but Linux actually kind of sucks in some ways." (Then don't bother to justify it until several posts later.)

"GPL != freedom at all; GPL is about restricting rights." (Then don't bother to explain how it is more restrictive until a day or two later.)

"Smart people will vote Republican!" (Except I can't really explain that one.)

I just have to do it in a controlled manner so that I don't lose all of my accumulated good karma and have to build it back up again.

Hell, I don't even use mod points when I get them. That's no great loss. I do meta moderate a bunch but as a paid subscriber I'll get to still do that even if I had the worst karma on /....

  • I don't think wait time is tied to karma. My sm62704 karma was/is excellent, and all of a sudden I had to wait 4 minutes between posts. Then I got my old mcgrew account back with its neutral karma (I had only made 4 comments with it, and that was back in 1999 and 2000) and still had a four minute wait. It's up to "good" already but the wait is still the same, but I can only post 25 comments in a 24 hour period.

I gots me some troll mods last night/this morning. ;) I defended Peru's choice to put Windows on the OLPC. Actively. I think all the insightful mods might outweight it. Hmm... I get the wait time right away it seems, long before I've made that many comments? I really have no idea but had assumed the wait was based on karma.

I'll have to try making a lot of posts sometime this weekend and see what happens.

The karma on this old account reached excellent (man, that was fast! I think getting a submission to hit the front page did it), the 25 posts in a 24 hour period have disappeared, but I still get the cowboy message.
