To be honest, I think it really is more of a NW sort of thing. I know we didn't do it in CA, and when my wife explained it to me, I thought she was joking. Till the neighbors showed up with a plate! I can tell you, its a crappy day for those of us who hate cherries, but.. as long as there's melted choclate around, there are many things worth dipping;-)
