They don't have the same strings attached - but bring their own onerous attachments.

No one heard of Edwards in 2002 - then after attending the Bilderberg conference, he was Kerry's running mate in a couple of months.

The company will run its business - no matter who the general manager appears to be.

Certainly the institutions invovled are corrupt.

  But I don't think this illustrates the point you seem to be making at all. There's an obvious difference between the candidates in this case, even if it might be characterized as marginal.
