I can see how someone would get offended by the cover (from the description) and probably the title. But, at least from my perspective, a handbook of common slang in the area in which an officer works would be of some assistance. Perhaps if it was done as more of a "scholarly" reference devoid of any attempts at "humor", there would be less of a brouhaha.
