iPhone explodes during unlock attempt

    More things should explode when you mess with them.


  • Surely they could remove the battery first, and then hit the power button to discharge the capacitors to be sure? I do this before repairing or opening any of my electronics.
    Not familiar with the iPhone, though.

      Reading deeper into the forum, it seems like it's really easy to damage the battery when opening the case without the proper tools, and that that might be what happened. I agree, it seems odd to work on something like this with the battery in but maybe it's necessary.

      • Oh, so it isn't like a standard cellphone, with an easily removable primary battery then. I am not a fan of integrated primary batteries; my new mp3 player (yeah, yeah... I was "behind the times") has an integrated battery, and I really wish it didn't.

        In fact, I don't much like things that I can't easily fiddle with. :)

I'd rather just believe that it's done by little elves running around.
