Journal pdusen's Journal: Bioshock Lacks True Widescreen

Despite earlier promises by game developers that players with wide screen monitors would "see more", the wide screen version of Bioshock is nothing more than the full screen version with the top and bottom cropped off. This has left players with wide monitors with a nauseatingly zoomed-in view that is reminiscent of looking at the world through a hole cut in a box. As if this weren't bad enough, 2K games has gone so far as to publicly claim on the Cult of Rapture website that they did it on purpose. Whether or not a fix for this problem will ever be released remains to be seen; in the meantime, fans have been working on a temporary fix that will correct the FOV for most players.
