Is Goodling's law degree worth the paper it is printed on?

Monica Goodling graduated from Regent the three years after it actually received accreditation. Why, you may ask did not the school have its accreditation? The easy answer is that it didn't deserve it because, well, it isn't really a law school. But, there is more to it than that.

The Law School lied to the ABA about its tenure program. Without one, accreditation is not warranted and is not given. We could sit here and argue the pros and cons of tenure, but for purposes of this dairy, it suffices to say that it is a variable that must exist for the ABA. Very briefly, it has to do with assuring a certain academic freedom to its faculty. And, well, you all know how much right-wing religious zealots treasure 'academic freedom'...

Did she pass the Bar Exam? If so, then her degree is of secondary importance, AFAIK. On the other hand, I was pretty bummed to find out that the Bar exam doesn't give any credit for drink mixing abilities;-)

I think I read in the article referenced in JC's previous journal that she passed the bar in Virginia. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm remembering incorrectly.

You've just nailed, on the head, the entirety of the behavioral and social psychology of the United States. As a homeless person I am supposed to do nothing but hang my head in shame and acquiesce to being recycled through the social reject programs so that I can be forever labelled as only fit for lower class placement. Any other action I take to try and elevate myself from this condition is nothing but further proof that I am unwilling to do anything to help myself.

It's a sad state of society when a person must be forced to live out of a van on the streets. It's not your fault. It's indicative of a larger problem in the fabric of our culture.
